Ashley specializes in the science of winning, Jeannette’s focus is on bragging, and Kris believes winning goes hand-in-hand with your quality of life we cover all three. Plus, Ashley, Jeannette, and Kris share their takes on winning – and some of their wins, tips for winning, and much more.
What Winning Means
- Kris: Going from idea to execution
- Jeannette: Winning is quality, excellence; what you’re doing, do well
- Ashley: The goal of a competition is improvement, not necessarily winning
How to “Win”
- Kris: Focus on Team, Time, and Toolkits. Systems and processes allow you to build efficiency. Then you have more bandwidth and live a happier, more balanced life
- Ashley: People don’t identify as competitive, because they are not “athletes.” Good competitors pick and choose when they want to compete, whether it’s for a promotion or a parking space. Use competition as a reference point to see how you are doing. Good competitors don’t take the win for granted
- Jeannette: It’s all about that healthy relationship with winning. When you are not attached to the outcome, it’s easier to brag. Bragging keeps you motivated to keep moving forward on all of your endeavors

Goals from our Guests
- Ashley: There’s a difference between a challenge (you have a shot) and a threat (bracing for the loss). When faced with a threat, look at your knowledge, skills, and ability. Then you can be more informed going into that situation. If you can’t win, change the goal.
- Kris: Stop chipping away at everything at once. You can’t shine a flashlight in 2 places at once. Don’t look at your smartphone for an hour after you get up
- Jeannette: Get Jeannette’s bragging worksheet and identify your KTAs. What are you knowledgeable about? Make a long list. Next are Talents (with verbs). Achievements (how many times did you do that and what were the results?)
Final Thoughts
- Kris: Business should be fun!
- Ashley: Modesty is what you show other people. The scientific definition of humility is an accurate depiction of your strengths and weaknesses. Strengths are where you shine. Weakness is where you can improve
- Jeannette: Winning is a mindset. Own that you are a winner!
