Goals with DEB

Debra Eckerling has been a terrific speaker for both The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS) and West Coast Writers Conferences (WC2). She is a professional presenter delivering on-target information for our attendees, and is also a great moderator. Debra always generates a warm, positive energy that inspires an audience. I have been talking for the past year about writing my own book. It wasn’t until I met Debra at a networking event in June 2012 that I realized she would be the perfect person to help me with the process. I am the organizer of the Entrepreneurs International Network (“EIN”). On December 21, 2021 Ms. Debra Eckerling spoke authentically, eloquently and enthusiastically to EIN’s members. The title of her presentation was “Set & Achieve Your Personal & Professional Goals.” Debra totally engaged the audience with the depth and breadth of her knowledge around all things related to setting goals and implementing strategies to achieve them. I have collaborated with Debra on several different projects over the past year. She is a corporate consultant who can motivate individuals as well as organizations to determine the best plans that ensure better results than they would otherwise achieve on their own. Thank you for the wonderful session on planning and reaching my goals. I can’t believe in the short half hour of conversing, I was able to walk away with an executable plan of action and timeline to reach an immediate pressing goal. In fact it was so simple, I thought I’d missed something.

I’ll end this year and begin the next one with a definite blueprint for completing tasks and getting things done–thanks to Debra. I’m stoked and inspired after our conversation, and will definitely sign up for future sessions. I’m about to pole vault over every single demon of opposition that has stymied my writing goals.

When I set my sights on being a serious writer with attention-deficit, I had trouble focusing and felt overwhelmed. I found Deb’s Facebook page, Write On! Online and began following her posts and podcasts. Every Sunday she’d tell us to post our weekly goals, then at the end of the week, did we meet them? If not, why? Deb has a positive, enthusiastic, infectious energy that has made a difference for me as a new writer. By following her posts and listening to her podcasts, I’ve developed the self-discipline to stay on task, complete them, and remain focused. She helped me break down the novel writing process into bite-sized pieces that moved me forward each day, no matter how small the task.
