Your Comfort Zone with Bobbie Carlton & Precious L. Williams

Continuing our theme of Adventure, this week’s I talk about stepping out of your comfort zone with Bobbie Carlton, founder, Innovation Women, and Killer Pitch Master Precious L. Williams. As Precious and I are part of Bobbie’s Innovation Women community, we focused on speaking, standing out, and being seen.

Bobbie and Precious share their comfort – and discomfort – zones, tips for standing out, their takes on the power of speaking … and why there are not as many women speakers as there could be, and so much more.

What it Means to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

  • Bobbie: When faced with things that make you uncomfortable, you can stop doing the things or you can get better at it!
  • Precious: Not being afraid to go after the future you want

How to Stand Out

  • Bobbie: Get on stage. The power and benefits from being on stage has to be more beneficial than the fear of being on there
  • Precious: There’s a market that wants you as you are. Show that you are an originator and a creator; be future-forward

Goals from our Guests

  • Bobbie: Find a stage. Google “Call for speakers” and your expertise
  • Precious:  Fortune favors the bold. Make a list of 150 reasons why people should book/hire/buy from you. After you add the things you know, ask your network. Then, teach your network how to pitch you

Final Thoughts

  • Bobbie: Just get out there
  • Precious: Your network is your net worth. Make sure people know who you really are
