Being your best productive self starts with getting organized, which is this week’s #GoalChatLive topic. Molly Beran, Projects By Molly, LLC; Deborah Thomas-Nininger, DTN Productions International; and Stacey Soleil, Follow Up Boss, joined me for a rapid-fire, advice-packed conversation.Molly, Deborah, and Stacey share why they love being organized … and how they do it, as well as why people find being organized a challenge, organization tips, and much more.
The Benefits of Being Organized
- Deborah: It helps you control what you can, while being flexible. Stop saying, “I’m so busy!” We’re all busy! Everyone can be organized.
- Stacey: Organization relieves anxiety and leads to clarity
- Molly: It saves a ton of time
Tips for Getting Organized
- Stacey: As a visual organizer, Stacey keeps a big wall calendar with huge color-coded stickies and a huge whiteboard for ideas
- Molly: Gather all your inputs/sources, and find a way to put in into a tracking mechanism; use sticky notes or a tool, like Trello or Asana
- Deborah: Make the decision to get organized and find what fits for you. Start developing habits (it takes 66 days, not 21)
Tips for Staying Organized
- Molly: Make yourself an issues list, so the things that come up get out of your brain. Build the habit of scheduling time to go through and check things off that list
- Deborah: Start your day off with a plan, but know it may go off the rails. Find ways to keep moving forward and celebrate wins. Create your nighttime routine too
- Stacey: Don’t want to write things down? Talk notes into your phone. Always check your notes

Goals
- Molly: Make a todo list on a post-it note. It’s small, so just enough room for things you can do; this helps you build momentum
- Deborah: Prepare on Friday for the following week
- Stacey: Start your day before looking at your phone
Final Thoughts
- Stacey: Figure out what will work for you. Start where you shine!
- Molly: Use Trello for home projects
- Deborah: Put personal tasks on your todo list
