Taking Care of Your Body with Dr. Meg Haworth, Viveka von Rosen & Jerod Williams

On this week’s #GoalChatLive, I had a fun and lively conversation about Taking Care of Your Body with Dr. Meg Haworth, Holistic Psychologist and Nutrition Strategist; Viveka von Rosen, co-founder, Vengreso; and Jerod Williams, Cardio Dance Fitness Instructor. When you prioritize your health, it positively impacts the other parts of your life.

Meg, Viv, and Jerod talked about what inspired their interest in health and fitness, as well as their food and exercise journeys. They also shared their thoughts on diet, exercise, healthy practices, and more.

How to Find Healthy Balance

  • Meg: Work in 90 – 120 minute increments, then listen to what your body says you need next. If you feel stiff, stretch, switch up the thing you are doing
  • Viv: Wakes up at 6am, starts journaling by 6:30am. Get your mind awake before you start moving. Work out in increments of time when you have them
  • Jerod: Find certain things you love more, are passionate about – balance is having things that feed your spirit to counter act “life stress.” Also, stretch in bed

Food

  • Meg:  Food will tell you what you should and should not eat. Think food quality, organic, quality vegetables and meats
  • Viv: Look at the menu, look at what’s delicious. From there, look at what looks healthy. Chose one of those delicious, healthy options
  • Jerod: Eat in moderation. For instance, only eat one piece of fried chicken
  • Meg: Your health is your wealth. Food is the baseline. Take cooking classes, learn all you can about what you put into your body

Goals from Our Guests

  • Viv: Create goals that are do-able, but also a little bit of a push
  • Jerod: Do something that’s different for you that keeps your mind sharp. Also, treat your body to something nice
  • Meg: Introduce something new – healthy – into your diet. Listen to your body

Final Thoughts

  • Jerod: Practice kindness … to yourself and others
  • Viv: It’s not just about longevity, it’s about quality. It’s never to late to start taking care of yourself.
  • Meg: Take good care of your mama’s baby
