Introducing Yourself with Erin Brown, Chad Nedland & Nikki Rausch

First impressions are everything! This week, Debra Eckerling speaks with Erin Brown, Hot Red Carpet; business startegist Chad Nedland; and Nikki Rausch, Sales Maven, about Introducing Yourself. And that intro begins before you say a word, whether you are at an in-person or online event.

Erin, Chad, and Nikki share their intros, along with what makes them memorable, as well as tons of tips for meeting people, making an impression, following up, and more.

Introductions Are Opportunities To …

  • Chad: Catch people’s attention
  • Erin: Read the room; it’s not always talking, sometimes it’s just being seen
  • Nikki: Ask questions that you also want to answer. Create curiosity that gives people a taste of who you are

On Following Up

  • Nikki: Always ask for the next meeting at the first meeting; make rapport deposits. If they are not a good fit for future conversations, bless and release
  • Chad: Introductions are not the time to say everything there is to be said! That’s why we follow up
  • Erin: Block time to connect. Allow three outreaches; if no response, move on

Goals from our Guests

  • Nikki:  When you meet new people, rather than tell them who you help, talk about who hires you. “Clients hire me to …” Create the sentence and say it to 10 people
  • Chad: Pique the interest of new people by asking a question, and sharing the outcome of people who work with you. For instance,  “You know how most people have this problem?  I solve that.”
  • Erin: Practice your intro. Sign up for networking events. Don’t beat yourself up for imperfect intros. Just keep working on it

Final Tip

  • Erin: Take an improv class!
  • Nikki: Be willing to invite people to take next steps with you … and get it in the calendar
  • Chad: Don’t be afraid to unleash your uniqueness unto the world. Your uniqueness is your greatness
