Marketing is a marathon, not a sprint. On this week’s #GoalChatLive I talked about Marketing with Jennifer Ballard, Brand Partnerships Strategist, Motivating the Masses; Winnona Gaviglio, Referral Maker & Marketing Strategist, UK to USA Marketing; and April Woodcock, Head of Digital & Chief Buzz Officer, TouchingClients.com.

Marketing is about being human, sharing your story, and sharing your skills with others (April). It’s a dance between you and your prospects and clients (Winnona). Marketing is making the connections. Being the right person with the right message at the right time (Jennifer).

Jennifer, Winnona, and April share their backgrounds and relationships with marketing, as well as their favorite social media platforms, marketing tips, and more.

The Marketing First Step

  • Winnona: Research. Ask your favorite clients about what led them to work with you and their results . That’s the language you can use to share your value on your website and with prospects
  • Jennifer: Send a survey, use results as content
  • April: Look at your website first; it’s the hub of your business. Also research your competitors; a competitive analysis should be done regularly

How to Breathe New Life into Your Marketing

  • April: Use Canva to add visuals to your marketing. Also, regularly update cover photos, review your LinkedIn to make sure it’s current, get a new headshot
  • Winnona: Do something nice for your power partners to make them feel appreciated
  • Jennifer: Get your customers involved in your marketing: get testimonials, video clips from events, case studies; so you can show real world examples and happy customers

Final Thoughts

  • April: Reach out, network, ask questions, learn. Be kind to yourself. It takes time
