LinkedIn Love Fest with Ivonne Ribeiro, Stan Robinson, Jr. & Brynne Tillman

We had a LinkedIn Love Fest this week on #GoalChatLive with Ivonne Ribeiro, Stan Robinson, Jr., and Brynne Tillman. Ivonne is Founder or iSellSocial; Stan is Chief Coaching Officer and Brynne is CEO of Social Sales Link. Brynne hosts the Making Sales Social Podcast, while the duo cohosts Sales Navigator Insights podcast.

While most of my panels feature guests who are meeting for the first time, this is one of the occasions where the guests are long-time friends and colleagues. The panel shared their connections to each other, and to me (thanks, Viveka von Rosen). Plus, they talked about their love for LinkedIn, the benefits of the platform, how to go from spectator to engager , and so much more. It was a fun, engaging, and strategic conversation.

Why Do You Love LinkedIn

  • Brynne: It gives you the opportunity to look at your connections’ connections and find pathways to them
  • Ivonne: LinkedIn is THE platform to bridge the digital connection. It offers all the same elements as when you connect with someone in person to develop that know, like, and trust factor
  • Stan: People are there with a business mindset. It’s a free website – although you do need to also have a website – you just have to put in the time to get the benefits from it

Advice

  • Brynne: Your LinkedIn content has to do five things. Resonate with your buyer, create curiosity, teach them something new, get them thinking differently about the way they are doing business, create a compelling moment (inspire engagement). Consistency and value matter
  • Ivonne: There are two kinds of lurkers/spectators on the platform: customers and creators. You never know who is consuming your content, Start commenting and engaging. If you have a team, meet with them and create a strategy
  • Stan: Don’t lead with promotional content
  • Brynne: Don’t push out mass, not personalized messaging. Treat the person on the other side of the message the same way you would treat them on the other side of the table
  • Yvonne: Don’t think about connecting in big numbers. Work up a list to a workable number (20), look at their website and profiles, and see if they are your ideal client persona
  • Brynne: Then look at your social proximity. Who do you know who knows them, who can bridge that connection
  • Stan: Sales Navigator is a paid tool, and you do not need it to benefit from LinkedIn. Develop your profile and content first

Goals

  • Stan: Find a thought leader in the industry that serves your clients, find a piece of content by them, and share it with your thoughts
  • Brynne: Search followers of that influencer, and you can send the post to those mutual connections
  • Ivonne: Find that influencer, and be one of the first commenters to one of their posts. You will get a ton of engagement
  • Ivonne: Create a posting strategy/plan put it in a spreadsheet

Final Thoughts

  • Ivonne: My heart is for the spectators. Be brave, be confident, and take the steps necessary to start creating content and engaging on Linkedin
  • Stan: Baby steps. Start small and go from there
  • Brynne: Fill your box first. Before you try new things, make a list of the things you do that you love. Do those. Then, go exploring
