On this week’s GoalChat, I was joined by three amazing friends and founders: Bobbie Carlton, Innovation Wmen; Troy Sandidge, Strategy Hackers®; and Viveka von Rosen, Women’s Technology Integration Collaborative. Our topic – how to Go Big – kicked off July’s “Just Go” theme.
Whether you’re growing your business, building your visibility, writing a book, speaking on bigger stages, or stepping into a new chapter, there comes a time when you have to stop playing small and embrace what’s possible.
Throughout July’s GoalChats, I am featuring achievers who shared tips in my book, 52 Secrets for Goal-Setting and Goal-Getting. Bobbie, Viveka, and Troy shared stories and insights about taking risks, embracing pivots, and creating opportunities … for yourself and others. The conversation was all about claiming your expertise, owning your authority, and amplifying your impact!
What It Means to Go Big
- Troy: Releasing the belief that you are small! Embrace the pivot and go with it
- Viv: Using liminal space (transitions) as a creating space. You have to believe in what’s possible
- Bobbie: Getting comfortable with an audience … or the idea of an audience; speaking as one to many
Creating Big Things
- Viv: Identify the movement you want to create. Viv’s theme: “Women’s words and wisdom are going to change the world.”
- Troy: Understanding yourself is step one. Think beyond your limitations. His priorities: Be a really good dad and a good husband; make generational impact.
- Bobbie: Letting women to know it’s okay to be mission-oriented and to make a living/grow sustainable businesses. Her impact: Innovation Nights and Innovation Women.
Go Big #GoalChatLive
Goals
- Troy: Eliminate 99% of your offers; focus on the big things, raise prices
- Bobbie: If you are interested in speaking, fix your bio, so it is audience focused, not client focused
- Viv: Every time you feel discomfort with your situation/progress, reframe it as a rich, creative space
Final Thoughts
- Viv: Paint your oura ring
- Bobbie: Get comfortable with public speaking,, so you can do the big things
- Troy: Take a deep breath and go!
