Endurance with Brian Fishbach, Seth Goldstein & Michelle Nicole McNabb

Is endurance a skill, an attitude, or a way of life? I say, all of the above!  This week, I talk about endurance with journalist Brian Fishbach, digital marketer Seth Goldstein, and external director of events Michelle Nicole McNabb.

Endurance is about setting boundaries, as well as finding systems that work for you in business and in life. Brian, Seth, Michelle, and I had an animated conversation about endurance, motivation, and moving forward without burning out.

What is Endurance?

  • Michelle: Pushing through even when things get hard
  • Seth: Putting up with stuff; content and consistency
  • Brian: Boundaries and commitment. There is a time to be proactive and a time to be reactive

How to Stay Focused and Motivated … and Endure

  • Michelle: Get organized – color-code your tasks – and start with the easy ones. Remember, endurance goes beyond motivation.
  • Seth: Be prepared. Know what you need to do to be successful.  It takes endurance to not do all the things you have to do and take a break
  • Brian: Endurance depends on the project and the desire to get it done. Take care of yourself. Spend an hour each day creating, learning, and moving. Also, good sleep hygiene is essential

Endurance Goals

  • Seth: Write down your tomorrow task list today. Put it in your Google calendar.
  • Brian: For 5 minutes each day, create something, learn something, move, meditate
  • Michelle: Find how to give yourself grace. Learn how to set boundaries. Find systems that work for you!
  • Bonus Goal: Turn off notifications on group texts and social media. Set boundaries for when you will answer the phone and respond to email

Final Thoughts

  • Brian: Don’t give up. Keep going.
  • Seth: Watch where you are walking. You don’t want to miss anything good or step in anything bad.
  • Michelle: Define your own fulfillment.
