DIY: Workshops, Group Coaching, and Books

Workshops

I lead The D*E*B Method workshops for community groups, organizations, and businesses to help members define and plan their projects.

Workshops-types, held both online and in Los Angeles, include:

In the workshops, participants  formulate a mission statement, set short- and long-term goals, prioritize the goals, and create a plan to set themselves up for success.

Goal-Setting is not just for January. It is a year-round process. <<<<<<<

Group Coaching can help your company, internal project team, startup, or non-profit jump-start a project or keep it in motion.

Don’t have a team? Put together a group of friends – writers, experts, entrepreneurs – to work on your projects, and I’ll provide direction for goal-setting, structure, strategy, troubleshooting, and accountability. Dennis WIlenI’ve worked with Debra at print and online publications for over a dozen years. And as a professional editor (and writer, and producer, and editor) I am skeptical of self-proclaimed “experts” — especially those offering advice about creative endeavors — but Deb’s insights have helped me immensely. She knows what works.

Her book Write On Blogging: 51 Tips to Create, Write & Promote Your Blog could only have been written by someone who has been there and done that.

Deb’s book, her Twitter chats, and her newsletter have changed the way I approach my writing, music, and video projects, and I’m better at my work because of it.

She has become a treasured advisor and a personal role model. Thanks, Deb.

When I set my sights on being a serious writer with attention-deficit, I had trouble focusing and felt overwhelmed. I found Deb’s Facebook page, Write On! Online and began following her posts and podcasts. Every Sunday she’d tell us to post our weekly goals, then at the end of the week, did we meet them? If not, why? Deb has a positive, enthusiastic, infectious energy that has made a difference for me as a new writer. By following her posts and listening to her podcasts, I’ve developed the self-discipline to stay on task, complete them, and remain focused. She helped me break down the novel writing process into bite-sized pieces that moved me forward each day, no matter how small the task. I’m now revising two novels that will be published within the year. If you want to be a published author, Debra Eckerling will get you there!

Debra helped each member of our group kick of the New Year right with her goal-setting workshop. She led us through thoughtfully designed worksheets that helped us think about where we want to be and how to get there. She also had great answers to our questions on how to be more productive and overcome obstacles to our goals.

Her workshop served to bring together the participants as we learned about each others’ goals and dreams, a great and unexpected benefit. I highly recommend Debra’s services as a coach and workshop leader.

The most ambitious and audacious goals need a road map, and Debra’s insight and direction is unbeatable. Whether you take her upbeat and fun workshop or want the extra personalized project management, Debra’s spot-on guidance and insight will help you turn your big ideas into reality.
